The jury praises him as an authentic innovator who brings together tradition and experiment and makes complex music accessible to a wide audience. With humour, lightness and depth, he builds bridges between genres and generations and dares to take risks time and again. The prize will be presented in March at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam.
